Historic Welsh Whitewashed Cottage Cafe Y Gegin Fawr
Historic whitewashed Welsh cafe where pilgrims have rested for centuries
Free shipping over $250
I discovered this gem in Aberdaron while exploring the Llŷn Peninsula. Y Gegin Fawr, meaning 'The Big Kitchen,' has welcomed weary travelers since medieval times when pilgrims would stop here before crossing to holy Bardsey Island. The brilliant whitewashed stone walls against the weathered slate roof caught the afternoon light perfectly, and I loved how the simple cafe sign and potted plants added warmth to this centuries-old building.
