Galapagos Marine Iguana Basking on Volcanic Rocks

I captured this incredible marine iguana during my Galapagos expedition, waiting patiently as it emerged from the cold Pacific waters to warm itself on the sun-baked lava rocks. The breeding season had painted his scales in these magnificent rusty reds and olive greens - nature's own masterpiece. I could hear the waves crashing nearby while this prehistoric creature remained completely unfazed by my presence, a testament to the islands' unique relationship between wildlife and visitors.
