About the Piece

I was crouched low in the tall grass when these two young grizzlies emerged from the brush. The one in front locked eyes with me immediately—that direct gaze you see captured here. My heart was pounding, but I stayed perfectly still. The tiny insects dancing around their damp fur told me they'd just been near the water. This is the raw, unfiltered connection between human and wild that I live for.
