I stood on the upper gallery of Edinburgh's National Museum, absolutely mesmerized by the soaring Victorian ironwork stretching above me. The Grand Gallery is one of those spaces that stops you in your tracks—the way the natural light filters through the glass roof and illuminates the white iron arches creates this ethereal atmosphere. I waited for the perfect moment when visitors were scattered just right across the marble floor below, giving scale to this magnificent engineering marvel from 1866.
