I captured this standing at the upper terrace of the Roman Baths, waiting for the perfect moment when the clouds parted to illuminate the honey-colored Bath stone. The contrast between the ancient Roman architecture below and the soaring Gothic tower of Bath Abbey behind creates this incredible timeline of British history in a single frame. The green thermal waters still bubble up from the same sacred spring the Romans discovered two thousand years ago.
