I waited all day for this moment at the Avenue of the Baobabs. As the sun began its descent, the flooded rice paddies transformed into mirrors of gold. These ancient Grandidier's baobabs, some over 800 years old, stood like nature's own cathedral columns against the amber sky. The locals call them 'renala' - mother of the forest - and watching them silhouetted against that gradient of orange and teal, I understood why. This single frame took three visits to Madagascar to capture perfectly.
